ikare (translated as; this side of the shore) follows john's search for mashe, the man he has become, over the lost years spent in the heat and dust of the gulf.
as john probes among a rubble of memories and junk collected over time, slowly a portrait of mashe emerges from the ruins. a migrant, living in a self imposed exile, who repeatedly searches for a shore that does not exist.
armed with an old 8mm camera, he begins to film pigeons living around him, who seem to have the freedom to fly, but seen through his lenses, are just birds without a sky.
